Thank you for reading — a quieter week behind the plate, but it still gave us a 1-0 game decided by one swing and one tag, a 19-year-old with one of the best arms in the minor leagues, and a junior in Texas whose phone rang because the work was already done.

1. His Home Run Was the Only Run. Then He Tagged Out the Tying Run.
Davis homered off a 98-mph sinker for the only run of a 1-0 win, then caught the relay that erased the tying run at the plate.
2. He Threw 89.3 MPH to Second Base at 19. His Organization Moved Him Up 15 Spots.
Jirvin Morillo hit .321 with 13 home runs in his first season in the United States and climbed from 24th to ninth on Cincinnati’s prospect list.
3. The Phone Lines Opened September 1. She Committed on Day Six.
Ryann Harris picked Florida six days into the 2028 class’s recruiting window. Nothing inside that window made her a catcher — that work was already done.
